eBay Rust and Rot ~ Purveyors of wonderful things. Welcome to the sale of this rare and sought after desk lamp. Made by Herbert Terry & Sons this is their second 1227 model anglepoise from the 1930’s / 1940’s. If your looking at this then I shall assume you know a bit about them and won’t explain all the differences between it and later 1227 lamps. This particular one is in good condition, being complete and not repainted unlike most on eBay. It comes in its original cream painted finish which has been sealed with wax to preserve its wonderful patina, although has a few marks as you would expect of a lamp of this age. The springs are original and correct for this model but are a little tarnished. The lamp has been restored with over three meters of modern cream fabric cable, correctly earthed to the frame as per the original wiring. It has been fitted with a new chromed switched bulb holder and a new 5amp UK plug. In good original condition commensurate with its age and use. Use the zoom feature on the pictures and really examine it, as they form part of the description and contact me if you have any further questions. The lamp measures (in cm as per second pic) 60 tall, 40 wide and 15 deep (base). It weighs 4.2kg We offer free delivery on many of our items, however delivery shown is for the UK mainland only. There will be a surcharge for some addresses in Northern Ireland, the Isle of Wight, the Isle of Man, the Scilly Isles and the Highlands and islands of Scotland.
